There would be mass protest, possibly suicide and homicide. The public would simply not agree with it. Do they honestly think we would vote for someone who would agree with such requests? No. No one would be happy. There would have to be a re-election and you think the public are going to support someone who takes away their freedom?
They would lose more money and support than gain. So I don’t know what they are trying to do or who they are trying to scare…but you can’t threaten to throw half the nation into jail. Because that’s what we are, more or less, half of the economy. I know of police officers who sell illegal DVDs and have advised their friends on torrents for movies and series. Not everyone has the money to pay for everything they want to watch/listen/read/play.
You’ve got bigger problems at hand. You think those children, those teenagers who struggle through their sexuality and their adolescence, who come to the internet to talk to others like them. A lot of them have been helped by their online friends. Helped to stop them commiting suicide. The government is sitting here fucking with the internet, with things they probably won’t even be able to stop anyway, rather than sitting down and discussing real problems. Problems like bullying and poverty. But hey, I guess as long as people starving to death and commiting suicide isn’t costing them any money… not really a problem to them, is it?
